Some Frequently Asked Questions
I am here to guide and teach you how to have a more goal-oriented life so that you can get to living.
Q: How many counseling sessions will it take?
A: Every situation is different, and the degree of distress varies by couple, family and individual. There is no one answer to this question. Generally, the number of counseling sessions that you will attend before experiencing significant relief from distress will range between 8 and 12 sessions. As you might expect, there is no “quick-fix” to achieve true meaningful change, and your progress will depend largely on the energy and effort you put into counseling. By session 4 or 5, many do report having a better understanding of each other or themselves and what feeds their pattern of dysfunction. Having this knowledge alone gives much hope and insight to the problems and solutions at hand.
Q: How frequently should we plan to attend counseling?
A: Counseling usually occurs on a weekly basis. In more delicate or tense situations, it might be more ideal to attend twice weekly. As you begin to feel more confident with managing your day to day life, sessions are scheduled less frequently.
Q: Do you accept insurance as a form of payment for counseling?
A: Solutions Counseling does not accept insurance. Payment can be made by cash, check, or debit/credit card. You may choose to file independently for reimbursement with your insurance company with a superbill which can be provided upon request. Reimbursement is not guaranteed. Solutions Counseling also offers a payment plan on a case-by-case basis.
